Cable vaults serve the purpose of protecting essential excess fiber optic cables laid in cable ducts, thanks to their high mechanical resistance and durability against short-term external loads up to 15 kN.
The repair vault VENKON ZK0 allows the introduction of an existing pipe with a cable into the vault without the need to cut the cable. It is used for installation in telecommunication networks as a repair kit in locations of cable cuts or failures.
Technical conditions for the application of the vault:
- The vault can be practically used in any location for the installation of cable ducts and is covered with a layer of soil with a standard height of 0.7 meters or another height, according to the installation instructions.
- It enables the overlaying of an existing pipe in the telecommunication sewer system without the need to cut it.
- When placing an order, the diameter of the pipe onto which the vault will be installed should be provided since the vaults are manufactured for a specific pipe diameter.
- Before backfilling the vault, it should be covered with a sheet of foil, extending at least 200 mm beyond the outline of the vault. On the foil, sections of warning tape used in the respective cable duct should be laid.
Technical description of the vault:
- Cable vaults have the form of a vertical box with a circular hatch.
- The vault cover complies with the PN-EN 124:2000 standard for bearing a load of 15 kN, corresponding to Class A15.
- The vault body transfers force from the cover and the pressure from the surrounding soil, allowing both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
- Reports from strength tests and the Centino CERT certificate confirm compliance with these properties.
- The use of covers and hatches from other manufacturers is allowed, provided there is geometric compatibility and compliance with the PN-EN 124 standard, as well as a minimum Class A15. Any loading conditions not considered in the calculation reports should be calculated by the designer.
