Plastic cable manholes are a key element of telecommunications infrastructure, used both along cable routes and at their ends. The main purpose of these containers is to protect jointing sleeves from mechanical damage and to store excess telecommunications cables laid in cable conduits. They serve as backbones, branching points, and cable connection points, making them an essential part of any modern telecommunications network.
Plastic cable manholes can be installed virtually anywhere, providing great flexibility in planning and building telecommunications networks. They are often covered by a standard 0.7-meter layer of soil, but it is also possible to install the container directly at ground level, with the cover flush with the ground surface. This versatility of installation allows for adaptation to specific terrain conditions and project requirements.
The introduction of cable conduits into the cable manholes is done with tight sealing, using additional U32 or U40 gaskets. In these containers, telecommunications cables can be safely stored and pulled without the risk of damage. These containers also provide proper protection for the jointing sleeves, which is crucial for maintaining the continuity and quality of data transmission in the telecommunications network.
Before backfilling a cable manhole, it is recommended to cover it with a sheet of foil that should extend at least 200 mm beyond its outline. Warning tape segments should be laid on the foil in accordance with the requirements of the given cable conduit. The cable containers take the form of a vertical box with a round hatch and consist of a body, an internal tube reinforcing the structure, and a gasket. Some models, such as sk1000, zkm, zk0, zk1, and zk2, may also be equipped with spaces for jointing sleeves, further enhancing their functionality and versatility.
