Z-XOTKtsdDb Fiber Optic Cable – Durable, Dielectric and Rodent-Resistant

The Z-XOTKtsdDb fiber optic cable is a modern and reliable solution designed for the construction of outdoor telecommunications networks, including long-haul, extensive and local networks. Thanks to its fully dielectric construction, it can be installed near medium- and high-voltage power lines without the risk of electromagnetic interference. It is ideally suited for installation in primary and secondary cable ducts, particularly in locations exposed to rodent activity.



Properties and Applications

The Z-XOTKtsd 12J (1×12)/1.8 cable is designed for outdoor installations, particularly:

  • in Ø32 and Ø40 fiber optic ducts,

  • in Ø110 primary cable ducts using the cable-blowing method,

  • in locations requiring a fully dielectric construction, including installation near low-, medium- and high-voltage power lines.

The cable features:

  • resistance to UV radiation, moisture and temperature fluctuations,

  • a dry water-blocking system and hydrophobic gel inside the tube,

  • a small diameter and low weight, facilitating transport and installation,

  • excellent suitability for cable-blowing technology,

  • sequential metre marking and the option to customise the cable identification.


Z-XOTKtsd Cable Construction
a: Central strength member – dielectric FRP rod, with or without a polyethylene coating

b: Loose tube – loose tube containing optical fibres and filled with hydrophobic gel

c: Optical fibre – single-mode fibre (J), dispersion-shifted single-mode fibre (Jn), multimode fibre (G/50) or multimode fibre (G/62.5)

d: Filler element – polyethylene filler element

e: Cable core – all tubes and filler elements stranded around the central strength member; the core consists of 6, 8, 12, 18 or 24 elements

f: Core water blocking – dry water-blocking system

g: Reinforcement – glass fibres wrapped around the cable core

h: Ripcords – two ripcords for opening the cable sheath

i: Sheath – black HDPE outer sheath

 


Z-XOTKtsdDb Cable Construction

  • Central strength member: dielectric FRP rod, with or without a polyethylene coating
  • Optical fibres: single-mode (J), dispersion-shifted single-mode (Jn) and multimode fibres (G/50, G/62.5)
  • Fiber optic tubes: loose tubes filled with hydrophobic gel, protecting the fibres against moisture
  • Filler elements: made of polyethylene
  • Cable core: tubes and filler elements stranded around the central strength member, comprising 6, 8, 12, 18 or 24 elements
  • Core water blocking: dry water-blocking system
  • Reinforcement: glass fibre yarn increasing mechanical strength and providing protection against rodents
  • Ripcords: two ripcords facilitating sheath removal
  • Outer sheath: black polyethylene (HDPE) sheath resistant to UV radiation, abrasion and environmental stress cracking
