The Telefonia Z-XOTKtsd 288J optical fiber cable features a multi-tube construction, where loose tubes wrap around a central strengthening rod made of glass fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP). In this case, there are 24 active tubes, each containing 12 optical fibers, hence the designation 24x12.
The fiber optic cable has a mini-tube with a diameter of 1.8 mm. Compared to a classic tube with a diameter of 2.4 mm, the outer diameter of the cable has been reduced, positively affecting parameters such as the minimum bending radius (reduced by 30%) and the cable mass. Although the cable is half as weak in tensile strength as the version with a classic tube, the nearly double reduction in mass balances this factor. An additional advantage of the lower mass is simplified logistics, especially easy laying or blowing of the lightweight cable.
The Z-XOTKtsd 288J / 1.8 cable is characterized by resistance to atmospheric conditions such as water, variable temperatures, and UV radiation. Its full dielectricity enables its use near low, medium, and high voltage lines.
Primarily designed for installation in fiber optic ducts with diameters such as O32, O40, or in primary sewage systems with a diameter of O110. The absence of an external reinforcing braid and relatively low mass make it ideally suited for blowing into cable ducts, although slightly less suitable for mechanical pulling into cable sewers. It is also practically used for installation in accessible sewers, where the force does not exceed 1 kN during installation.
