SZS-43/185/20 72J – Modular Fiber Optic Cabinet with Cable Storage for Splice Closure

The SZS-43/185/20 72J with cable storage is a modular outdoor fiber optic cabinet designed for installation in FTTH networks and telecommunications infrastructure requiring a higher capacity of subscriber connections. The design focuses on convenient optical signal distribution, efficient cable management, and safe storage of spare backbone and subscriber cables.

The cabinet is intended for ground installation by burying approximately 60 cm into the soil, ensuring structural stability and reliable protection of fiber infrastructure in outdoor environments. The housing is made of 1 mm thick steel sheet with a Magnelis® coating, providing excellent corrosion resistance and long service life in demanding outdoor conditions. The enclosure is finished with powder coating in light grey RAL 7035, a standard color used in telecommunications infrastructure.

Inside the cabinet there is a removable fiber optic patch panel with a 72-fiber capacity, allowing the installation of 36 SC Duplex adapters. This configuration supports a large number of subscribers and enables convenient connection management from a single distribution point.

The cabinet is equipped with 10 linear ports, allowing the connection of backbone cables and the installation of splitters in access networks. The well-designed internal layout ensures sufficient space for fiber routing and organized fiber slack management.

An additional advantage of the design is a separate compartment in the above-ground section dedicated to storing spare backbone and subscriber cables, secured with a hermetic lock. This solution allows safe cable storage and provides easy access during installation and maintenance work.

The lower part of the enclosure features a sealed multi-entry cable gland, allowing several cables to be introduced simultaneously while maintaining a high level of tightness. Additionally, the cabinet includes three backbone cable fixing clamps, which stabilize the cable and facilitate proper routing.

The cabinet construction meets IP65 ingress protection rating and IK10 mechanical resistance, ensuring reliable protection of network components against dust, moisture, and mechanical damage. Its robust design and high port capacity make the SZS-43/185/20 72J a practical solution for operators building and expanding modern fiber optic networks.
