Description

Huawei H901XGHD – 8-port XGPON board with N1 optical modules

Huawei H901XGHD is an 8-port XGPON line board designed for use in Huawei OLT devices and for building high-performance next-generation fiber optic networks. The board is equipped with 8 × 10G GPON (XGPON) ports and is supplied with 8 × N1 optical modules, which are included in the product price.

The solution provides high bandwidth for demanding broadband services, offering up to 10 Gb/s downstream and up to 2.5 Gb/s upstream. The maximum split ratio is 1:256 per port, enabling efficient use of PON infrastructure even with a large number of subscribers.

8 XGPON ports

The H901XGHD board features 8 × 10G GPON (XGPON) ports. Each port can serve multiple subscribers through passive fiber optic infrastructure and appropriate optical splitters.

The maximum split ratio is 1:256 per port, allowing a single PON port to support a large number of ONU/ONT terminals.

High transmission bandwidth

XGPON technology provides significantly higher bandwidth than conventional GPON solutions. Huawei H901XGHD offers:

  • up to 10 Gb/s downstream,
  • up to 2.5 Gb/s upstream,
  • maximum split ratio of 1:256.

Thanks to its high throughput, the board can be used in networks providing high-speed Internet access, video transmission, business services, and other demanding broadband applications.

N1 optical modules included

The Huawei H901XGHD board is supplied with 8 × N1 optical modules – one for each XGPON port.

The N1 modules are included in the price of the set, making the board ready for installation without the need to purchase optical modules separately.

Long PON network reach

The H901XGHD supports long-distance connections. The maximum distance between two ONU devices connected to the same PON port can be up to 40 km.

This parameter allows the board to be used in extensive access networks where reducing the number of active infrastructure components is important.

Support for a large number of services and subscribers

The board supports up to 2048 T-CONTs per PON port and up to 16,384 service flows per PON board. This enables efficient operation in large carrier networks with many simultaneously active services.

The maximum standard frame size is 2004 B, while with Jumbo Frames it can reach 9216 B.

Bandwidth management and QoS

Huawei H901XGHD provides mechanisms for precise bandwidth and network traffic management.

The board supports, among others:

  • ONU-based shaping,
  • queue-based shaping,
  • CAR groups,
  • FEC in both directions,
  • Load Sharing,
  • variable-length OMCI.

These functions allow operators to efficiently control bandwidth usage and adjust transmission parameters to the requirements of individual services.

Protection and reliability

The H901XGHD is equipped with mechanisms designed to improve the security and reliability of the PON network. The board supports Rogue ONU detection/isolation, allowing malfunctioning ONU terminals to be detected and isolated.

It also supports:

  • Type B protection,
  • automatic shutdown in case of overheating,
  • automatic shutdown of inactive ports,
  • bidirectional FEC.

These mechanisms help reduce the impact of failures of individual components on the operation of the entire infrastructure.

Load Sharing

The board supports the Load Sharing function, enabling efficient distribution of traffic load within the infrastructure. This feature can be used to improve resource utilization and increase overall network stability.

D-CCAP Networking

Huawei H901XGHD also supports D-CCAP Networking, making it suitable for modern access network architectures that require integration of broadband services with carrier infrastructure.

Memory and addressing parameters

The board supports up to 131,072 MAC addresses, allowing it to operate in large and complex network environments.

Operating conditions and power consumption

Huawei H901XGHD is designed to operate over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 65°C.

Power consumption:

  • static: 42 W,
  • maximum: 61 W.

The wide operating temperature range allows the board to be used in demanding carrier-grade environments.
