ZTE F601 GPON ONU – Compact Terminal with Gigabit Ethernet Port

ZTE F601 is a compact GPON ONU subscriber terminal designed for use in FTTH fiber-optic networks. The device is equipped with 1 GPON optical port with an SC/UPC connector and 1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T port, enabling a fast and stable connection between the fiber-optic network and an end device.

The terminal has been designed for telecommunications operators and installations requiring a simple and efficient GPON network termination. Its compact dimensions and maximum power consumption of 6 W make the ZTE F601 a practical solution for subscriber installations.

GPON interface

The ZTE F601 features 1 GPON SC/UPC port for connecting the device to the operator’s fiber-optic infrastructure. The terminal supports data transmission speeds of up to 2.488 Gb/s downstream and 1.244 Gb/s upstream.

The specified transmission distance ranges from 0 to 20 km, depending on the parameters of the optical infrastructure used.

Gigabit Ethernet port

Communication with user devices is provided by 1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T port. The port supports automatic link parameter negotiation, automatic MDI/MDIX crossover, and both full-duplex and half-duplex operation.

The Gigabit interface makes it possible to efficiently utilize the bandwidth offered by the GPON network and provides a fast connection to a computer, router, switch, or other network device.

Management via OMCI and Web

The ZTE F601 can be managed using the OMCI protocol directly from the OLT device. This allows the operator to centrally configure and control the terminal parameters.

The device also provides access to a graphical Web interface, enabling convenient configuration of selected functions through a web browser.

The management panel allows, among other things, changing the SN serial number and authentication parameters. The terminal also supports entering an authentication password in ASCII format.

Traffic filtering and QoS

The ZTE F601 is equipped with mechanisms for controlling and filtering network traffic. Filtering can be performed based on:

• UNI port,
• VLAN ID,
• 802.1p value,
• UNI + 802.1p,
• VLAN + 802.1p.

The terminal also supports advanced QoS mechanisms, enabling bandwidth control and appropriate prioritization of network traffic.

Network security

The device provides protection mechanisms against various types of network overloads and attacks. The ZTE F601 offers protection against, among others:

• DoS attacks,
• excessive broadcast traffic,
• unwanted unicast traffic,
• unwanted multicast traffic.

This allows the terminal to be safely used as part of both operator and subscriber network infrastructure.

Optical module

The ZTE F601 uses an optical module designed for GPON networks. Optical transmission parameters include:

• Tx wavelength: 1290–1330 nm,
• Rx wavelength: 1480–1500 nm,
• receiver sensitivity: -28 dBm,
• transmit power: 0.5–5 dBm.
