Isopropanol Cleanser IPA 1L is a universal cleaning agent for optics, precision mechanics, and electronic equipment.
The speed and quality of transmission in the fiber optic channel depend on the quality of connections and their cleanliness. Contamination of the front surface of fiber optic connectors and transmitters often leads to physical damage to the connectors in the contact area on the ferrule surface, resulting in breaks or errors in optical signal transmission. Contamination of fiber optic connectors causes the highest percentage of failures in fiber optic networks.
To prevent failures and interruptions in transmission, inspection and cleaning of connectors are sufficient, allowing significant savings in service and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
In clean rooms where significant dust and pollution are absent, lint-free wipes and isopropyl alcohol can be used. Isopropanol dissolves grease and removes stubborn dirt. Its undeniable advantage is that it does not leave residue, unlike some technical alcohols. Excess alcohol, dissolved grease, and any contaminants are removed by wiping the ferrule end against a lint-free wipe. The wipe should be clean and placed on an even soft surface. Do not rub the ferrule twice in the same place. If the cleaning effectiveness decreases, change the wipe. Any contaminants on the wipe can contribute to ferrule end damage. Contaminants on the wipe may settle from the air, so it is essential to change the wipe regularly depending on the cleanliness level of the room.
