General Overview:
The Ubiquiti U7 Pro is the first UniFi access point to utilize the Wi-Fi 7 standard. The device operates simultaneously in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax in the 2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, and IEEE 802.11 ax/be in the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band, 2882 Mbps in the 5 GHz band, and 5765 Mbps in the 6 GHz band. With the adoption of the 802.11be protocol, the device delivers higher speeds than Wi-Fi 6E networks, which also use three bands. Higher throughput is achieved through wider channels (up to 320 MHz) and higher modulation (4096QAM, while older standards used 1024QAM).
Wi-Fi 7 also introduces additional features such as MLO (Multi-Link Operation), allowing simultaneous connection of a client device to all three bands. Older standards allowed connection to only one band at a time, depending on signal quality. The MRU (Multi-Resource Units) technology improves channel utilization, minimizing signal loss caused by interference.
The U7 Pro access point features a housing designed for ceiling or wall mounting. The package includes a mount and installation anchors. The device is equipped with a 2.5G Ethernet port (2500 Mbps), providing higher throughput than gigabit Ethernet and allowing the use of the high speeds offered by Wi-Fi 7. This port also serves for PoE power in the 802.3 at (PoE+) standard. The maximum power consumption is 21 W, but the power adapter is not included in the package. Wireless transmission is handled by built-in omnidirectional antennas with a gain of 4 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band, 6 dBi in the 5 GHz band, and 5.8 dBi in the 6 GHz band.
UniFi Network:
The offered product operates under UniFi software, enabling centralized management of multiple devices from a single application. UniFi is primarily designed for building hotspot networks composed of access points but also supports monitoring systems – the "Protect" series. UniFi allows you to build an extensive network and then control it from one system, enabling quick changes in configuration, hotspot settings, and firmware updates. The UniFi application is free and available for both computers and mobile devices.
Technical Specifications:
