The TP-LINK MC112CSM media converter allows for the transformation of the transmission medium from standard STP/UTP twisted-pair cable to a single-mode optical fiber.
The MC112CSM is a reliable device that enables the transmission of Fast Ethernet signals over a single-mode optical fiber for considerable distances - up to 20 km. The media converter features a single SC connector for both transmitting and receiving signals. This effect is achieved through the use of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, which enables independent transmission of signals at different wavelengths over a single optical fiber, significantly reducing installation costs.
The device transmits optical signals in the second transmission window at a wavelength of 1310 nm, while it receives data in the third transmission window at a wavelength of 1550 nm. The receiver module's sensitivity is adjusted to the power of the received optical signal at a distance of 20 km.
TP-LINK media converters come with built-in MDI/MDIX auto-detection, eliminating the need for crossover cables, and automatically detect and set the speed and mode of data transmission. They operate with a "store and forward" mechanism, which checks the correctness of all received data by calculating checksums.
TP-LINK devices are fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u standards. Their installation and operation are very simple due to the "plug and play" feature. LED indicators on the device continuously inform the user about the status of the media converter.
Key features:
1 Ethernet port 10/100 Mb/s on RJ-45 connector,
Long transmission distance - up to 20 km,
Transmission over a single-mode optical fiber (WDM),
LED indicators indicating the device's operation status,
Very easy installation (plug and play).
