The TP-Link ER605 (TL-R605) is a gigabit VPN Omada router with Multi-WAN capability and centralized management.
Equipped with 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, including 2 LAN ports, 1 WAN port, and 2 WAN/LAN ports, the router allows users to utilize up to three WAN ports simultaneously, meeting diverse Internet access requirements. The Multi-WAN Load Balancing feature distributes data transmission among WAN ports, maximizing the utilization of available Internet connections. Additionally, mobile connectivity using a USB 4G/3G modem is supported as a backup connection.
A list of compatible 4G/3G modems is available at https://www.tp-link.com/en/er605/compatibility/.
The TP-Link ER605 is fully integrated with the Omada SDN platform, allowing for centralized and remote control from anywhere at any time. With a configuration page and dedicated application, managing the device is made even more convenient. Easy-to-follow instructions enable quick configuration of necessary settings in the Omada app. Network status monitoring, client management, and settings adjustment can all be done from a smartphone or tablet.
The ER605 supports IPSec/PPTP/L2TP VPN based on IPSec/SSL protocols. One-click Auto IPSec VPN significantly simplifies VPN configuration, facilitating management and deployment of networks. It secures and encrypts private site-to-site communication over the Internet. This version improves VPN performance by 4-5 times with an open line of communication to the Omada user database.
Advanced security features include reliable firewall, convenient VLAN support, DoS attack protection, IP/MAC/URL address filtering, IP-MAC binding, and one-click ALG activation.
The device allows for network usage rules establishment, making it easy to assign Internet access permissions to employees using IP/MAC/URL address filtering and access control list (ACL). Access authentication via a captive portal makes resource consumption control less problematic by logging, authenticating, and classifying users. Specific network resources can also be shared with selected individuals.
