The TP-Link EC225-G5 is a dual-band, wireless AC1300 MU-MIMO router designed specifically for internet service providers (ISPs). It supports the TR-069 protocol for auto provisioning and is compatible with Aginet ACS (formerly Agile Config), allowing for customization of default settings (preventing full reset by the subscriber) and personalization of the logo and favicon. Configuration can be uploaded to multiple devices simultaneously without the need to log into each one individually. The router supports TR-069, TR-181, TR-111, TR-143, and Aginet ACS communication protocols, enabling auto provisioning. It also supports a PPTP server and allows for remote configuration.
The router operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands in accordance with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/a/ac standards. It features four Gigabit Ethernet ports (three LAN ports and one WAN port). The maximum theoretical transmission speed is 1300 Mbps (400 Mbps on 2.4GHz and 867 Mbps on 5GHz). The router is equipped with four external omnidirectional antennas.
The router supports 2x2 MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies. MU-MIMO allows simultaneous communication with two devices, reducing downtime, providing greater bandwidth to devices, and enhancing data stream efficiency. Beamforming technology detects devices and sends a strong Wi-Fi signal in their direction, ensuring stable and reliable connections.
The TP-Link EC225-G5 is compatible with the EasyMesh standard, allowing the creation of a single Mesh network with other compatible devices. Such a network can comprise multiple routers/access points that communicate wirelessly. Users see one network name regardless of the number of devices, which is convenient for everyday use. EasyMesh is a standard used by various manufacturers, so you are not limited to TP-Link solutions only.
ISPs can remotely configure and manage devices through ACS (Auto-Configuration Server) or Aginet ACS. High-level operations are possible due to the support of TR-181, TR-111, and TR-143 protocols. Aginet provides ISPs with a comprehensive and flexible platform for managing multiple devices, offering features such as dynamic service provisioning, remote firmware updates, and remote troubleshooting.
