OPTIX Fiber Optic Cable
The OPTIX ADSS-XOTKtsdD (ADSS) Aramid yarns cable features a lightweight multistrand construction, high flexibility, and resistance to tension. It includes a central strengthening element (FRP rod 2.1-6.3mm), hydrophobic gel and water-blocking construction (WB), moisture-absorbing fibers (WSY) / moisture-proof tape, reinforced with aramid yarn (structural element in aerial installations), entirely dielectric, coated with HDPE for UV resistance, and has a temperature range of -40°C to +60°C – equivalent to ADSS-XOTKtsdD. The maximum installation tension is 2,700N.
All fibers and tubes of the cable are color-coded according to the eia/tia-598 coding standard. Each tube containing up to 12 optical fibers is filled with hydrophobic gel to protect the fibers from moisture and vibrations. The cable core is protected from water penetration using moisture-absorbing fibers or moisture-proof tape. The cable tubes and filling elements are twisted around the central strength element (FRP rod 2.1-6.3mm). Two ripcords embedded in the jacket facilitate the removal of the outer cable sheath. These cables are designed for aerial installations on spans of 50m (for 2.7kN) as well as for primary and secondary telecommunications ducts using pneumatic (blowing) and mechanical (pulling) methods.
