The MikroTik wsAP ac lite is a dual-band wall-mountable access point designed for telecommunications and electrical outlets in both Europe and the United States. It features a bracket compatible with most European and American telecom/electrical outlets. At the back of the enclosure, there are two ports - 1 fast Ethernet and 1 telephone RJ11. At the front, there are three additional ports - 2 fast Ethernet and 1 telephone RJ11. Both telephone ports are connected in pass-through mode, acting as regular connectors and allowing the connection of a telephone to the network. The first front Ethernet port functions as a standard LAN port, while the second one enables powering another device via PoE with a voltage range of 18 - 57 V DC. The wsAP itself is powered via PoE, compliant with 802.3af/at standards or passive PoE 18 - 57 V DC.
The device is equipped with a QCA9531 processor clocked at 650 MHz. It allows simultaneous data transmission in both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. It supports the modern IEEE 802.11ac standard as well as older protocols. In the 2.4 GHz band, it utilizes dual-polarization (2x2 MIMO / dual-chain), enabling theoretical throughput of up to 300 Mb/s. In the 5 GHz band, it supports single-polarization (SISO / single chain), hence achieving a maximum theoretical throughput of 433 Mb/s.
The device is designed for use in environments where multiple access points are needed to cover extensive areas with a wireless network, such as schools or hotels. It blends well with the surroundings and is not conspicuous. An additional advantage is the USB 2.0 port allowing, for example, phone charging.
Note: Power adapter is not included in the package!
