The MikroTik LHG 5 ac is a device operating in the 5 GHz band and utilizing the modern 802.11ac standard. It combines a grid antenna with an integrated radio, eliminating the need for pigtails and thereby reducing signal loss caused by cables. The 5acD version stands out with its highly efficient IPQ-4018 processor featuring 4 cores clocked at 716 MHz and 256 MB of RAM. The antenna used has the same diameter as other LHG models - 391 mm - and provides a gain of 24 dBi.
The product utilizes dual polarization and 2x2 MIMO (dual-chain) technology. The theoretical throughput (in the 802.11ac standard) can reach up to 866 Mb/s, with a maximum transmit power of 25 dBm. An additional advantage is the very narrow main beam, approximately 7° wide. The device is powered via passive PoE with a voltage range of 10 - 30 V DC.
The LHG 5 ac is well-suited for point-to-point connections requiring high throughput. It can also be effectively used as a client device over longer distances where other solutions may not perform well.
