Description

The SC8108 tester is an advanced electronic tool with an LCD display, allowing for comprehensive testing of computer network cabling with much more detail than simple testers that only indicate circuit continuity via LED diodes.

The most distinguishing feature of the SC8108 tester is its ability to measure cable length. This enables users to precisely determine the location of any faults, whether it's a break in one of the pairs or a short circuit.

Equipped with a graphical display that presents results on four lines of 16 characters each, the tester provides a clear and concise visualization of information.

The device's functions include:

  • Testing of category 5, 5e, 6 network cables, as well as telephone cables,
  • Detection of short circuits, reversed pairs, crossed pairs, and discontinuities,
  • Identification of connection errors and wire identification,
  • Cable length measurement and determination of break and short locations,
  • Calibration of length measurement for precise results,
  • Large LCD screen measuring 4 x 16 characters (61.6 x 25.2 mm) for clear result presentation,
  • Dimensions: 180 x 80 x 40 mm,
  • Power supply: 4 x 1.5V AA batteries (up to 50 hours of operation) - batteries not included,
  • Capability for one-person cable testing, even when the cable is already installed.

The SC8108 tester allows measurements of cables up to 1350 meters in length, providing an accuracy of 3% (+/- 0.5m) after calibration using a cable of at least 5 meters in length, or 5% (+/- 0.5m) with factory calibration.
