The Huawei MA5800-X7 is the industry's first intelligent OLT (Optical Line Terminal) aggregator with a distributed architecture designed as a next-generation NG-PON OLT. Its purpose is to assist operators in building networks with greater bandwidth, higher speed, and more intelligent connectivity, enhancing customer service. This OLT terminal provides access to GPON, 10G PON (including XG-PON and XGS-PON), as well as P2P 10GE/GE. It is utilized in FTTH, FTTD, FTTB, and FTTC networks, supporting scenarios for home access, enterprise access, and wireless internet access, converging various services into a single fiber-optic network. The MA5800 operates as a high-capacity aggregation device, simplifying network architecture by aggregating traffic from ONTs, MDUs, and campus switches.
Distributed Architecture:
The MA5800 utilizes a distributed architecture similar to routers, where service processing on the control board is distributed to each service board. This enhances switching capability, performance, and system reliability.
Optimal Video Experiences:
The MA5800 supports distributed caching for quick startup of 4K/8K videos and channel switching. It also incorporates video quality monitoring (VMOS), collecting visual indicators using built-in probes on the boards. OLT upgrades can be performed seamlessly without interrupting video services, enhancing user comfort.
Evolution from GPON to XG(S)-PON:
With support for combo PON technology, the MA5800 can collaborate with the built-in WDM1r optical module, enabling a smooth evolution from GPON to XG(S)-PON.
Convenient Installation and Connectivity:
The Huawei MA5800-X7 chassis can be mounted in a 19-inch wide cabinet. The modular platform is equipped with slots for installing service cards, allowing the installation of up to 7 modular GPON cards, each with 16 ports. The OLT is compatible with various hardware and software versions, including MA5800-X2, MA5800-X7, MA5800-X15, and MA5800-X17.
