Huawei HG659 is a versatile router designed for building a high-performance home or small office network. The device combines a VDSL/ADSL2+ modem, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi access point, Gigabit Ethernet switch, and VoIP telephony functions in a single enclosure. Huawei HG659 supports wireless networks in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, offering Wi-Fi transmission speeds of up to 1.3 Gb/s. The 2.4 GHz band is well suited for everyday Internet use, while the 5 GHz band provides higher performance for more demanding applications such as multimedia streaming, transferring large files, or online gaming.

VDSL/ADSL Modem and Broad Compatibility

The built-in DSL modem supports a wide range of standards, allowing the Huawei HG659 to be used with various Internet access technologies. The router supports, among others, VDSL, ADSL, ADSL2, and ADSL2+, as well as numerous DSL profiles and annexes.

The device can also operate with an Ethernet WAN connection, increasing its versatility and allowing the router to be used in different network configurations.

Dual-Band 802.11ac Wi-Fi

Huawei HG659 uses the IEEE 802.11ac standard, providing wireless data transmission speeds of up to 1.3 Gb/s.

The router operates simultaneously in two frequency bands:

• 5 GHz – provides higher performance and is intended for more demanding tasks such as HD video streaming, large file transfers, or online gaming.

The router is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports, allowing computers, Smart TVs, game consoles, access points, recorders, and other network devices to be connected.

The ports support automatic 10/100/1000 Mb/s speed negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX, making network device installation simple without requiring special cable types.

VoIP Telephony and Fax Support
