The ZTT ADSS 12J flat cable with a single-tube construction is designed for aerial installation over spans of up to 60 meters. Its outer sheath is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), black in color, which is resistant to UV radiation and has a wide temperature tolerance ranging from -40°C to 70°C. The cable is reinforced with two 2 mm diameter FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) rods embedded in the outer sheath. Inside the central tube, which contains 12 optical fibers, there is a thixotropic gel that protects the fibers from water ingress and vibrations. Single-mode fibers of type G.652D are utilized, characterized by a reduced "water peak", and the minimum bending radius for the cable is 100 mm (with bending possible only in one plane). Additionally, special fibers acting as a moisture barrier and two ripcords are incorporated to facilitate the removal of the outer sheath.
