The ZTT 2-24J universal optical cables are dielectric cables with a single-tube construction designed for aerial installations on spans up to 60 meters and in telecommunication ducts. They are reinforced with glass fibers and two Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) rods with a diameter of 0.58mm embedded in the outer layer. G.652D single-mode fibers with a reduced "water peak" (Zero Water Peak) are used. The fibers are housed in a central tube filled with hydrophobic gel to protect them from moisture and vibrations. The outer jacket is made of high-density polyethylene HDPE (black), resistant to chemicals present in ducts, UV radiation, and extreme temperatures (-40°C to 70°C). The outer diameter of the cables ranges from 5.2mm to 6.2mm, and the maximum installation tension is 800N. A double ripcord is used to facilitate the removal of the outer jacket.
