Description

The ZTT 48J DUCT Anti-Rodent optical fiber cable is a dielectric multi-tube cable designed for installation in cable ducts in areas susceptible to rodent attacks. The cable is reinforced with a thick glass fiber braid, providing effective protection against rodents, along with a central Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) rod. Two ripcords have been added to facilitate the removal of the external cable jacket. Inside the tube with optical fibers, a hydrophobic gel is placed to protect against moisture and vibrations. The single-mode fibers used are compliant with the G.652D standard, known for its reduced sensitivity to hydroxyl ions (Zero Water Peak). The outer jacket is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in black, providing resistance to chemicals and substances found in telecommunications ducts. The optical fibers are protected against moisture using water-absorbing fibers and tape.

Rodent protection features include:

  • Increased amount of glass fiber braid
  • Double-layered, thickened outer jacket
