The TP-LINK MC111CSM media converter enables the transformation of the transmission medium from traditional STP/UTP twisted pair to a single-mode fiber optic cable.
The MC111CSM is a reliable device that facilitates the transmission of Fast Ethernet signals over a single-mode fiber optic cable over significant distances - up to 20 km. The converter features a single SC connector for both transmitting and receiving signals. This is achieved through the use of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, which allows independent transmission of signals at different wavelengths over a single fiber optic cable, significantly reducing installation costs.
The device transmits optical signals in the third transmission window at a wavelength of 1550 nm, while receiving data in the second transmission window at a wavelength of 1310 nm. The receiver module's sensitivity is adjusted to the received optical signal power over a distance of 20 km.
TP-LINK media converters feature built-in MDI/MDIX auto-detection, eliminating the need for crossover cables, and automatically detect and set the speed and transmission mode of data. They operate with a "store and forward" mechanism, which verifies the correctness of all received data by calculating checksums.
TP-LINK devices are fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u standards. Their installation and operation are very simple thanks to the "plug and play" feature. LED indicators on the device continuously inform the user about the status of the media converter.
Key Features:
1 Ethernet port at 10/100 Mb/s on an RJ-45 connector,
Long transmission distance - up to 20 km,
Transmission over a single-mode fiber optic cable (WDM),
LED indicators indicating the device's operational status,
Very easy installation (plug and play).
