The Tele-fonika Z-XOTKtsd 96J optical fiber cable is characterized by a multi-tube construction, where loose tubes wrap around a central FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) strengthening rod made of glass fiber. In this specific configuration, we have eight active tubes - each filled with 12 optical fibers - hence the designation 8x12.
The fiber optic cable has a mini-tube with a diameter of 1.8 mm. Compared to the traditional tube with a diameter of 2.4 mm, the outer diameter of the cable has been reduced, which positively affects parameters such as the minimum bending radius (reduced by 30%) and the cable's weight. Although the cable is half as weak in tensile strength as the version with a traditional tube, the nearly double reduction in mass balances this factor. An additional advantage of the lower mass is the simplification of logistics, and above all, the easy laying or blowing-in of the lightweight cable.
Properties and application of Z-XOTKtsd 96J / 1.8:
The cable can be used wherever resistance to atmospheric conditions is required: water, variable temperature, and UV radiation. An important advantage is its full dielectricity, allowing it to be used near low, medium, and high voltage lines.
The Tele-Fonika Z-XOTKtsd 96J / 1.8 optical fiber is mainly intended for installation in optical ducts such as O32, O40, or possibly in primary sewage systems with a diameter of O110. Due to the lack of an external reinforcing braid and relatively low mass, it is ideally suited for blowing into cable ducts, albeit slightly less so for mechanical pulling into cable sewers. In practice, it is also used for installation in open sewers where the installation force does not exceed 1 kN.
