The Telefonia Z-XOTKtsd 72J fiber optic cable features a multi-tube design, where loose tubes are wrapped around a central FRP strengthening rod made of glass fiber. In this specific configuration, there are six active tubes, each filled with 12 optical fibers, denoted as 6x12. There are no additional fillers in the cable; all tubes are active, meaning they contain fibers inside.
With a diameter of 1.8 mm, the cable includes a mini-tube. Compared to the traditional 2.4 mm tube, this reduction in outer cable diameter positively affects parameters such as minimum bending radius (reduced by 30%) and cable mass. Although the cable is half as strong in tensile strength compared to the version with a traditional tube, the nearly double reduction in mass balances this factor. The lightweight nature of the cable simplifies logistics and, most importantly, facilitates easy installation or blowing of the lightweight cable.
