Programmable SFP Modules

Programmable SFP Modules

SFP modules enable programming and cloning of both unsecured and secured modules. This tool allows for the modification of SFP module configurations, such as manufacturer name, model, serial number, as well as checksum calculation and modification of individual bytes in accordance with the MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) standard. Programming enables customization of the module for various needs, such as programming OEM modules with firmware from another manufacturer, ensuring proper detection by devices such as switches or routers. We also offer advanced adapters, including SFP-DD, QSFP, SFP-DD, and OSFP inserts (see related products). The adapter's price is attractive because it does not have other connectors, limiting itself only to SFP/SFP+ inserts and metal protective cages.

SFP+ Inserts - Higher Throughput and Versatility of Applications

SFP+ inserts (Enhanced Small Form-Factor Pluggable) represent fiber optic inserts with throughput ranging from 4 Gbit/s to 32 Gbit/s. Popular interfaces support speeds of 10 Gigabit Ethernet and increasingly common 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel interfaces. These are enhanced versions of SFP modules, tailored to higher throughputs required in dynamically developing technologies and the growing demand for data transmission bandwidth in network devices such as switches, routers, converters, firewalls, etc.

Operational Parameters of SFP+ Fiber Inserts

Optical inserts operate on both multimode (MMF - MultiMode Fiber) and single-mode (SMF - SingleMode Fiber) optical fiber cables. They can transmit data over both duplex fiber pairs and single fiber strands. The maximum transmission distance without the use of regenerative points is 300 meters for multimode medium and up to 80 km for single-mode modules.

Divisions of SFP+ Modules and Their Applications

Duplex Fiber Optic Modules:

Data transmission occurs over two physically separate optical fiber strands (duplex). Operate at wavelengths of 850nm/1310nm/1550nm.

10G Bi-Directional SFP+ Optical Modules WDM (Simplex):

Transmission occurs over a single optical fiber strand (simplex) using different wavelengths.

10G CWDM SFP+ Optical Modules:

Transmit data in the second and third transmission windows (1270-1610nm), offering 18 transmission channels.

10G DWDM SFP+ Optical Modules:

Available in 100GHz (40 transmission channels) and 50GHz (80 transmission channels) versions, allowing transmission in the range of 1565.5nm to 1528.77nm.

10G Twinax SFP+:

Two modules connected by a copper cable ranging from 1 meter to 7 meters, providing an economical solution for short distances, often used in server rooms.

In conclusion, the programmability of SFP adapters and advanced SFP+ inserts are crucial elements for adapting network devices to changing needs, offering versatility and efficiency in data transmission. With a variety of optical modules, users can flexibly adjust their installations to specific network requirements
