Multimode adapters

A multimode fiber optic adapter is a device used in fiber optic networks to connect two ends of a multimode fiber optic cable.

Applications of Multimode Adapters

Multimode fiber optic cables are characterized by having multiple modes (pathways) for light propagation, and their core has a larger diameter compared to single-mode cables. These cables exhibit lower signal quality and reach compared to single-mode cables but are more cost-effective and easier to install.

Multimode fiber optic adapters find applications in smaller fiber optic networks, such as LANs, as well as in industrial applications like industrial control systems and data transmission. The properties of multimode adapters ensure a reliable and stable connection between different devices in a fiber optic network.
