The RouterBOARD cAP 5acD2nD is the first MikroTik access point that operates simultaneously in both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. The device is compatible with the 802.11ac standard and features two built-in omnidirectional antennas with gains of 2 dBi (2.4 GHz) / 2.5 dBi (5 GHz). It employs dual-polarization (2x2 MIMO / dual chain) in both bands, offering theoretical throughput of up to 300 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band and 866 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band.
Included in the package are two types of enclosures, one for ceiling mounting and the other for wall mounting. The device is designed to work with CAPsMAN, a MikroTik management system that allows centralized control of multiple connected access points. This enables the creation of networks comprising multiple cAP devices, covering extensive areas such as schools, shopping centers, or hotels simultaneously.
The product boasts a powerful quad-core IPQ-4018 processor clocked at 716 MHz and 128 MB of RAM. Additionally, it features two gigabit Ethernet ports, facilitating easy network expansion. The second port supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) output (passive PoE), allowing it to power other devices such as cAP 2nD. The cAP 5acD2nD itself is powered through the first port, either via passive PoE or PoE+ 802.3af/at. A 24 V, 1.2 A power adapter is included in the package.
